General Notes: Husband - Michael Lantz

He was born in the Conococheague valley, Pennsylvania, where his father, who was a German by birth, had settled at an early date in the history of the state.
About 1799, or 1800, he located on Ross' run, near the present site of Georgeville, Indiana County, and in a few years started a tan yard, which he sold to one of the Brady's, and then moved to the vicinity where Smicksburg was later located. He afterward resided on what later became the Samuel Richey farm, and other places, making the first improvement on several places.
