General Notes: Husband - Samuel Harper

He emigrated from Scotland to America, with his wife and family, in 1754. There are some grounds for thinking that they at first settled at what is now Harper's Ferry, Virginia. For many years prior to his death he lived on a farm in Hopewell township, York County, Pennsylvania, within the bounds of the Associate Presbyterian congregation of Guinston, in which he was a ruling elder until he died.
