General Notes: Husband - William Taylor

He and his wife were of Scotch-Irish descent, and after coming to Pennsylvania in 1789 bought 160 acres on the National pike, between Beallsville and Brownsville. Mr. Taylor then conducted a tavern for several years, and also built the first M. E. Church in that locality, which was long known by his name.

Besides the children listed, there were others who died in infancy.

General Notes: Wife - Phoebe Hardman

The identity of this person is questionable. The source identifies her as Phoebe Kirkwood, wife of William Taylor, but later states:
Phoebe (Hardman) Taylor, . . . was born in the Scottish Highlands, and came to Ireland with her parents (Moxruder Hardman and wife) to escape the Cromwellian atrocities. Mrs. Hardman, nee Miss Kirkwood, became owner of 1,000 acres of land near Dublin. Phoebe Hardman married William Taylor. [CBRWC, 746]
