General Notes: Husband - Erastus W. Hall

He enlisted during the Civil War, April, 1864, in the Twelfth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, served under Sheridan in the Virginia campaigns, and received an honorable discharge July, 1865. On his return he resumed farming, and by industry acquired a comfortable home. He took a prominent part in the public affairs of his township, filling nearly all of its offices; he served as School Director nine years in all. Politically he was a stanch Republican.
