General Notes: Husband - Lewis Turner

His education was such as the common country schools afforded, and his entire life was passed on the homestead farm, comprising 119 acres, all under cultivation with the exception of five acres, and underlaid with a good grade of coal. Coal oil could be seen oozing from the hillsides, but no prospecting had ever been done in the region. After the death of his father, his mother lived with him until she too was called to the world beyond.
He and his wife were faithful members of the United Brethren Church, of which Mr. Turner was steward. His political support was always given the Republican party.
