General Notes: Husband - Andrew Gross, Sr.


He came to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, when a young man, and located near Carlisle. For a long time he followed his trade of weaving, and then went to teaming and wagoned for two years to Baltimore. In 1850 he located in Hopewell township, and settled on the old Laughlin farm, buying it in 1853. Here he farmed for fifty-three [sic] years. In 1882 he bought a home in Newburg, where he lived retired for eight years prior to his death.
