General Notes: Husband - Andrew W. Miller

He was brought to Washington County, Pennsylvania, when but a child, reared in Mt. Pleasant and Chartiers townships, and received a subscription-school education. He married and settled on the old farm where his grandfather had located in 1848. The farm consisted of 177 acres of good land, which was well improved, and adorned with a fine brick residence and good out-buildings. Mr. Miller devoted a considerable portion of his time to raising a fine grade of stock. He was actively interested in politics, voting with the Democratic party, as did his fathers before him. He served as supervisor of Chartiers township, as a member of the school board, and was always deeply interested in school matters. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian Church at Houstonville, of which he was a trustee.
