General Notes: Husband - Henry Sphar

He resided on a part of the family farm where he always had his home. His entire business life was given to farming. His father gave him a farm of one hundred acres, to which he added other lands. When a young man he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. [HWC 1882, 651]

He resided on a farm in Allen township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, containing 100 acres of land, and he made a specialty of raising fine Spanish Merino sheep, also keeping a good grade of cattle. In political opinion he was a Republican, and was a member of the school board. He and his wife were active workers in the Methodist Episcopal Church at Mount Tabor.
