He was seven years old when his father was killed by the Indians. He lived with William Thompson nine years, then went to Stone Valley and lived nine years. He settled in French Creek Township, Venango County, April 17, 1798. His farm joined that of his brother, James, near Raymilton. He served in the War of 1812.
