Darwin S. Gotham, 70, of 119 Delaware Ave., Claymont, Del., a native of Oil City, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday in Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, Del. He was born in Oil City Aug. 7, 1912, a son of William B. and Nellie Ziegler Gotham. Mr. Gotham was employed as a truck driver by the Sun Oil Co., reitring in 1974 after 35 years with the firm. He also held a private pilot's license.
He was a member of the Atonement United Methodist Church in Claymont, the Delaware Consistory and the Washington Lodge, F. & A.M., of which he was a past president with the directors' staff of the Nurr Temple.
Mr. Gotham was married for 46 years to the former Ella Hess who survives. Also surviving are a son, William B. Gotham of Houston, Texas; a sister Hazel Gotham of Oil City; and a brother, Eugene Gotham of Oil City.
Funeral - Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, with Reb. Robert B. Smith, pastor of the Oil City First United Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment - Grove Hill Cemetery.
