General Notes: Husband - Ira E. Howard


He entered the army in 1862, as First Lieutenant of the 169th Pennsylvania Volunteers, and was mustered out in August, 1863. On his return, he en-gaged in the lumber business at Rockdale, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Seven years later he located in Franklin. In connection with his sons, W. D. and R. D., he owned and managed the Atlantic Planing Mills and Lumber Yard. [HVC 1879, 498]
