General Notes: Husband - Dr. Norval D. Marchand


He read medicine and held a diploma to practice the same. In 1830 he removed to Washington, Indiana, and there married, having several children, all of whom died except a daughter, Martha. Two years after the death of his first wife he married her sister, the surviving issue being one daughter. In 1849, with several others, Dr. Marchand started overland for California, dying on the plains at the last crossing of the Humboldt river.
