General Notes: Husband - Daniel Goodwin

He and his wife were both natives of Pennsylvania, who moved with their respective parents to Ohio. There they were married, and in 1825 came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, and purchased a farm in the portion of Jackson township formerly included in Plum. They subsequently removed to another farm later owned by Ira Goodwin, where they lived the remainder of their days.

He was a prominent farmer, and held many of the township offices. For several years he was a class leader in the Methodist Episcopal church.
His children were six in number, four of whom were still living in 1890.

He was born at Columbus, Ohio, and like his father, was a stock dealer. Subsequently he transferred his headquarters from Columbus to Cooperstown, Pennsylvania. He then embarked in the iron and mercantile business, and became a land agent, buying large tracts of land. The old homestead in Plum township, Venango County, later owned by the sons of his son Ira, was a portion of the land he purchased when he was land agent. [HAC 1914, 601]
