General Notes: Husband - Hezekiah Gongaware


He was born on the Gongaware farm, near Irwin, Pennsylva­nia. He received a common school education and worked on the farm with his father, the greater part of the time on one of his farms situated three miles from Greensburg. In 1880 he became the owner of his own farm, and removed to that place. April 9, 1887, he started upon an extended trip through England and Scotland, and returned by way of Canada, covering a considerable portion of the country, and arriving home in August of the same year. He was a member of the Luth­eran church, and was a Democrat in politics.
