He came to Mercer County, PA, in 1828 with his wife and children. They settled in Springfield Township in the portion that later became Findley Township. After fifteen years they moved to Delaware Township. Ten years later they moved to Cool Spring. They were members of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
