General Notes: Husband - Isaac Crowell

He spent his early life on the farm on which he was born. During the Civil War he enlisted in Company I, Eleventh Pennsylvania Regiment of Volunteers, and served for three months. During this period he passed through the following places: Greensburg, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Chambersburg, Williamsport, Bunker Hill, Harpers' Ferry, Charlestown, receiving his discharge at the last named place. Later he was engaged as conductor on the Pennsylvania railroad for the Penn Gas Coal Company at Penn Station. In politics he was a staunch Republican, and served his township as school director, tax collector, a member of the council, and in 1890 was appointed [census?] enumerator of Penn borough. In church relations he was a Methodist.
