General Notes: Husband - William Erwin McDowell


He was a farmer near St. Thomas, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and a ruling elder of the St. Thomas Presbyterian church. He served in the Civil War, being commissioned captain of Company I, 158th P. V. I., Nov. 4, 1862, and was mustered out Aug. 12, 1863. He was a member of the G. A. R. He removed to Nebraska in 1883, settling in Hitchcock County.
