General Notes: Husband - A. F. Gilger


He learned the carpenter's trade, which he followed at Monroe, Clarion County, PA, for a number of years. In 1875 he came to Hadley, Mercer County, and entered the store of Joshua Gilger as clerk, and in 1880 became the junior member of the firm of Gilger & Co. Mr. Gilger was a member of Eureka Lodge No. 272, F. & A. M., of Greenville, and G. W. Brown Lodge, I. O. O. F., No. 592, of Hadley. He and family were members of the Presbyterian Church, and he voted the Republican ticket. [HMC 1888, 1122]
