He left Pennsylvania for California in 1911, where he had charge of operating the light and water plant at Reward. In 1913, he returned to Worth Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and spent the remainder of his life on the old family homestead. He was a member of Centerbrook Grange, No. 1601.
