General Notes: Husband - John Humes

---

He was an early emigrant from north of Ireland and a soldier in the Revolutionary war. He settled at its close in Franklin township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. His land was a tract called "Southampton," consisting of two hundred and twenty-eight acres and one hundred and fifty perches, which had been surveyed by a warrant dated Aug. 26, 1786, to James Gibson, and for which the patent was issued March 22, 1804.
