General Notes: Husband - David Gibb

The ancestor of the Gibb family who founded his line in America was a soldier in the war for independence, fighting in the army of General Washington during those years of conflict. The story is told by his descendants that it was one time his privilege and honor to proffer his illustrious commander a drink from his sealskin cap, which served as a cup at the spring where they had paused for refreshment.

He was one of the early pioneers in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
