General Notes: Husband - Samuel Gemberling

He was reared on a farm, learning also the tanner's trade, which he continued until his retirement from business in 1872. After taking possession of the homestead, he also conducted a sawmill. He was a Republican in politics, although not active in party work, and he and his wife, were both members of the Reformed Church.
