General Notes: Husband - George Baltzer Gans


He came with his wife to America from Swartzenan, Germany, in 1719, and located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tradition assigns to him the position of chamberlain to the King, while his wife was a lady in waiting upon the Queen. Their coat of arms was a goose in a circle. All the Ganses were originally Tankers or German Baptists, who taught the doctrine of non-resistance.
