General Notes: Husband - William Henry Harrison "Hack" Sampson

The Sampson family operated a pottery on the Beach School Road.

The Gadsby family did not like him and his father-in-law, Thomas Gadsby, made it clear in his will that he did not want his son-in-law to have any share of the inheritance left to his daughter, Ann (Gadsby) Sampson.

According to his wife's obituary, he and his wife had twelve children.

In 1883 he and his family moved from Pennsylvania to Coleman, Midland County, Michigan.

General Notes: Wife - Ann Gadsby

Unk newspaper,
Mrs. Harrison Sampson Dead.

Again we bow our heads in sadness as the silent had of death hovers over the home of Harrison Sampson and again takes from him his loving wife and leaves our midst vacant of one who was dearly loved and highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Harrison Sampson was born in Venango county, Penn., in 1846, and was there married in 1865, where they lived until 1883, when they came to Coleman, purchasing a farm and living on it up to three years ago, when they moved to their home in the city where deceased passed away.
Mrs. Sampson was the mother of twelve children, of which only two survive her, Albert E. ahd Harry, of this county. She was a kind and home-loving woman, a devoted wife and mother, but on account of her long and lingering illness did not take an active part in church work, but was a steadfast believer of the Presbyterian faith.
Mr. Sampson, the bereaved husband, has the heartfelt sympathy of all in this his trying ordeal, as this the fifth death in his home in the past two years, he having lost his mother and three sons previous to the death of his wife.
