General Notes: Husband - William Penn Orbison


He graduated at Jefferson College in 1832, read law with John G. Miles, Esq., at Huntingdon, graduated at Carlisle Law School in November, 1835, was admitted to the bar at Huntingdon, November 12, 1835. In the spring of 1836, entered into partnership with James M. Bell, Esq., and continued with him until 1845. He was ordained a ruling elder in the Presbyterian church, October 31, 1855; was president of the First National Bank of Huntingdon from 1871 to 1878; later was practising law with his son, Robert A. The house located at Third and Penn streets, Huntingdon, in which he lived, was built by his father in 1815.
