General Notes: Husband - Alonzo Whiting


He came with his parents to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1837, and made his permanent home in Summit township, where he acquired ownership of one of the best farms in western Pennsylvania. He brought his land up to a high state of cultivation and became one of the most prominent citizens in the community. He served for many years as a school director, doing much for the educational benefit of the county; he took an active interest in the affairs of the Republican party.
