He owned and ran the mill until 1850, when he sold it, and bought the old homestead, where he lived until about 1865, then sold and moved to Bridgetown. He and his wife were New Mennonites at Deep Run, of which he was a trustee for some time, and of which he was twice nominated for the ministry, but not elected.
