Rev. Dwight G. Montgomery
Rev. Dwight G. Montgomery of 412 College Ave., Grove City, died in the Grove City United Community Hospital at 8:39 pm Sunday.
He was born in Nickleville Oct. 16, 1904, a son of D. C. and Nellie Grant Montgomery.
He worked in the oilfields before entering the ministry, and served in the Tylersburg, Luthersburg, New Ireland, Sligo and the Rushford and Ellicotville, N. Y., charges.
He also served at one time as a caretaker of the Methodist Cherry Run Campground.
He was married to the former Wilda Mae French on Feb. 6, 1924. She survives along with three sons, Richard Montgomery of Slippery Rock, John Montgomery of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Donald Montgomery who is serving in the U.S. Navy in Sigonella, Sicily.
Also surviving is a daughter, Joan Ann Pike of Gaylord, Mich.; one sister Mrs. Twila Burdick of Venice, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert.
The body was removed to the Morrison Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Thursday with Rev. H. Clair Heitzenrater, retired Methodist minister from Clarion, officiating. Interment will follow in the Nickleville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for the Rev. Dwight Montgomery, retired United Methodist minister who died Sunday, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City.
The Rev. H. Carl Heitzenrater, also a retired minister, officiated. Interment was in the Nickleville Cemetery and the pallbearers were Robert McCullough, Jerry Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, Richard Montgomery, Brian Montgomery, George MacDougall and Thomas Saylor.
Attending from out-of-town were Mrs. Dwight Montgomery of Grove city; the Rev. and Mrs. H. Carl Heitzenrater of Clarion; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Montgomgery, George MacDougall, Slippery Rock; Mrs. Donald Burdick, Venice, Fla.; Mrs. Dorothy Jane Ervin of Tampa, Fla.; the Rev. and Mrs. Richard Snyder, Meadville; Mrs. JoAnn Pike, Gaylord, Mich.; Donald Montgomery, serving with the Navy in Sicily; Susan Keskine, Johannesburg, Mich.; Debra Pike, Monroe, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Thoms Saylor, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgomery, Harrisville.

Wilda M. Montgomery
Wilda M. Montgomery, 90, of Corwith, Mich. formerly of Oil City, died Wednesday, March 23, 1994, at the Otesgo Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Mich.
Mrs. Montgomery had lived in Michigan since April 1981.
Born May 17, 1903, in Cranberry, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Leopold French.
She was married Feb. 6, 1924, to Rev. Dwight G. Montgomery, who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1985.
Mrs. Montgomery had been active in the church with her husband, and the Montgomerys served in Tylersburg, Luthersburg, New Ireland and Sligo, and with the Rushville, N.Y., and Ellicottville, N.Y., charges.
They had also served as caretakers of the Cherry Run Campground.
Surviving are two sons, John David Montgomery of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Donald Lee Montgomery of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, JoAnne M. Pike of Bay City, Mich.; a sister, Dortha Cubitt of Seneca; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by two sons, A. Robert Montgomery and Richard E. Montgomery; four brothers, Edgar French, Arthur French, Ernie French and Eugene French; and a sister, Ruby Kapp.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Rev. Ferd B. Park, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate at the services.
Interment will be in Nickleville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
