Eugene V. French
Eugene V. French, 73, of 429 Victory Drive, Sharpsville, was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:10 a.m. Monday at Sharon General Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time.
Born in Cranberry on Oct. 1, 1911, he was a son of John A. and Bertha Leapold French.
On June 5, 1937, he married the former Hazel A. Klippel. She died Jan. 3, 1958. He later married the former Lois I. Stoll, who died Feb. 12, 1983.
Mr. French retired Feb. 1, 1974, from the Sharon Transformer Division, Westinghouse Electric Corp., where he had worked as a foreman.
He was a member of the Sharon Lodge 250, Free and Accepted Masons; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of New Castle; Zem Zem Temple, Erie; Northwestern Pennsylvania Shrine Association; and the Mercer County Shrine Club. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Kapp of Venus, Mrs. Wilda Montgomery of Grove City and Mrs. Dortha Cubitt of Cranberry.
Funeral services were conducted this morning at the Sample and O'Donnell Funeral Home, Sharon.
