Ernest R. French
Ernest R. French, 70, of 108 Grant St., died at 6 am Tuesday at his home. He was a retired employee of Joy Manufacturing.
Born December 3, 1909, in Cranberry, he was the son of John A. and Bertha Leopold French.
In 1937, he married the former Mary E. Kirchner, who survives.
He attended Cranberry and Oil City schools.
He was an employee of Joseph Reed Gas Engine Co. then the Arms Franklin, before becoming an employee of Joy Manufacturing. He retired from Joy in 1974.
He was a member of the Auxiliary Police Unit of Oil City.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Kapp of Venus; Mrs. Wilda Montgomery of Grove City; and Mrs. Dortha Cubitt of Seneca; and a brother, Eugene French of Sharpsville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call after 2 pm today at the Joseph A. Reinsel Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm today and Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery.
