General Notes: Husband - Adam Small Frederick

He was born on the home farm in Burrell township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a mill-wright, carpenter and farmer. At one time he operated a mill at Chartiers Station, on the Allegheny river, and later bought a farm in Armstrong County, where he remained three years. He then sold the property and bought in Indiana County, residing there until 1874, when he returned to Westmoreland County. For many years he was an old line Whig, and later became an ardent Republican, although never seeking public office. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
