General Notes: Husband - Dr. James Franciss


He was a surgeon under Washington in the Revolutionary war, and gained great praise for his tireless energy and kindness in caring for the sick and wounded during the terrible winter at Valley Forge.
He became a pioneer of Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

His wife was a Quaker.
