General Notes: Husband - John Stoner

When thirteen years of age he accompanied his parents to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he followed farming all his life, and in connection therewith engaged in carpentering and coopering. He was a member of the old Mennonite Church. [HWC 1906 III, 649]

He was born in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, and when a boy, removed to Westmoreland County with his father, settling in what became known as Stoner's settlement, near Scottdale. He was a carpenter and cooper by trade, and followed that occupation, in connection with farming and distilling, all his active working life. He was very active in public affairs, and was one of the directors in the Pittsburg and Wheeling Pike. He was one of the founders of the Mennonite church. [HWC 1906 III, 303]
