General Notes: Husband - Allen P. Jones

He started to school when six years old. As the route he had to travel was through the woods, his father accompanied him the first trip and blazed the trees so he could find the way to and from school. He assisted his father on the farm till his twenty-fourth year when he married and then purchased part of the place where James McCurey later resided. It had a lime kiln on it and he burnt lime for nine years and then sold the kiln to Dr. A. Egbert. He then purchased the Samuel Pearson farm and lived on it five years and then went on the McElwaine farm and from that to Jackson Centre where he purchased property. When his father died he inherited his father's property in the same village and moved onto it. In all these changes he never went out of sight of his birth-place. In addition to farming and stock raising, he did a little of lumbering, speculating, etc.
