General Notes: Husband - Isaac Sumny

After completing his youthful studies in the public schools, he learned the shoemaker's trade, following this for a time and then forsaking it to engage in farming. He became the owner of land in Nottingham township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, devoting his entire breadth of acres to fruit culture, in which line he was unusually successful. Here he passed his remaining years, holding a position in the front rank of the county's agriculturists. His church was the Presbyterian, and he was a Democrat in politics, fraternizing with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
