General Notes: Husband - John Flinner

He was born in Germany and worked upon his father's farm until his marriage. For fifteen years after his marriage he was engaged in a distillery near his home, at the end of which time he immigrated to Pennsylvania and settled upon a tract of 400 acres of land in Lancaster township, Butler County. He made many improvements to this property, and resided there until his death. Thirteen children were born to him and his wife, ten of whom grew to maturity.
He was a prominent member of the German Lutheran church, and served as an elder in that organization for a number of years. In early days he was a Democrat, and subsequently a Republican.
