General Notes: Husband - John R. Fleming

He attended the public schools of Washington and Beaver counties, Pennsylvania, and after completing his studies engaged in farming as his life occupation. His first property was the Cole farm of seventy-seven acres in Greene township, and later he rented another farm in the same locality. This he only cultivated for a year and a half before he purchased one hundred and four acres of land near Hookstown, on which he resided beginning in 1898. In his operations he included both dairying and general farming, owning some excellent stock, and was uniformly successful as an agriculturist. His political support was given to the Prohibition party, and he was a member of the Mill Creek Church, a communicant of the same faith as his father. In the spring of 1914 he was chosen one of the elders of the congregation.
