He was six years old when his parents brought him to the Fleeger homestead farm in Center township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and there he remained ever since, engaging in agricultural pursuits and in merchandising. He was one of the township's best known citizens through having business relations with many people and he had a large circle of friends.
