General Notes: Husband - Lewis Essington McKay


He attended the public schools, afterwards graduating at Grove City High School and Grove City College. Mr. McKay was for three years associated with the Grove City National Bank, and the First National Bank at Conneaut Lake, until 1904, and as cashier of the latter bank, after which he began to give his entire attention to carriage manufacturing. He was a Republican in the political field, and his vote and influence are for the maintenance of that party's principles. Mr. McKay was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, serving in 1898 with Company F, 15th Pennsylvania Regiment. His fraternal affiliations were with the Free and Accepted Masons, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the thirty-second degree, and the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was also a member of the Rotary, the Commercial, and the Country clubs. His religious faith was that of the Presbyterian Church.
