General Notes: Husband - Robert Campbell McChain

Union Twp, Washington Co, PA

He attended the district schools and helped his father on the farm, remaining at home until his marriage. He acquired interests of his own in land and livestock and devoted himself to agricultural pursuits. After marriage he rented a farm which he later purchased in 1894, it being locally known as the old Dr. Estep farm. In 1901 he completed the building of a new residence and made all his surroundings attractive and comfortable. His dairying was managed after modern methods, he selling his milk wholesale, shipping to Pittsburgh and supplying the Monongahela Hospital. Mr. McChain was considered an excellent judge of cattle and stock of all kinds and his judgment was frequently consulted on such matters by his neighbors.
He and his wife belonged to the Presbyterian Church at Finleyville. He was a Democrat in politics.
