General Notes: Husband - Judge David W. Findley

He was engaged for many years in merchandising, was prothonotary and clerk twice, and held the position of associate judge one term. He was also justice of the peace for a number of years, and finally, by common consent, was admitted to the Mercer County bar. He practiced law until his impaired physical condition compelled him to cease. He was a useful public man, thoroughly alive to questions that concerned the welfare of the people. For more than fifty years he was an exemplary member of the Presbyterian Church. During his earlier years he was a Whig, and then a Republican, but the closing years of his life were identified with the Democratic party. His name is held in great veneration in the community where his widow and children still reside. [HMC 1888, 662]
