Mrs. Finch was youth leader
Mrs. Adda V. Finch, 58, of 78 Rocky Grove Ave., wife of Francis Finch, died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday in the Franklin Hospital. She had been admitted on Jan. 28.
A Franklin native, she was born Feb. 25, 1923, a daughter of Nelson A. and Ada Haney Walter. Most of her life was spent in Franklin, with the exception of eight years in Florida and five years spent in Youngstown, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School, with the Class of 1940. She had been employed at Chritzman and Vath Jewelry Store and also at the former Orpheum Theater in Franklin.
Active in community activities for young people, Mrs. Finch served as an officer of the Parent-Teacher Association for several years and was also a leader in the Girl Scouts organization. She was a member of the Rocky Grove Boost­er Club and held membership in Grace United Methodist Church.
On April 5, 1943, she and Francis Finch were married. Her husband survives.
Also surviving are three daugh­ters, Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Wilkins of Mercer, Mrs. Stephen (Peggy) Stroupe of Franklin, and Mrs. Jamie (Cathy) Velez, stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in Japan; a half-sister, Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Dunlap of Franklin; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Huff Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral serv­ices are scheduled Friday morning at 11, with the Rev. Lloyd S. Sturtz, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
