General Notes: Husband - John Fetterman


He came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, in 1800. Was in the war of 1812, and held the position of Captain.

He was born and raised in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, came with his family, and settled in what is now Oakland township, Venango County, in the year 1805. His family consisted of himself, wife and ten children, four sons and six daughters. He was a farmer, and acted as Justice of the Peace for many years. He was Captain of a militia company, at Erie, in the War of 1812. Died on the farm on which he settled, aged seventy-eight years.

He and his wife were among the early settlers of Plum township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. He was a soldier of the war of 1812, a Democrat, and for many years a justice of the peace. He and wife belonged to the Lutheran church. They had ten children, four were still living in 1890.
