Dorothy F. Ferringer, 96, for­merly of Terrace Gardens, 1519 Elk St., Franklin, and Colonial Manor, 1212 Chestnut St., Franklin, died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 1996, in the Oil City Presbyterian Church.
Born Nov. 21, 1899, in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Mary Sophia Reuf Fry. She moved to Franklin with her parents at the age of six months.
Mrs. Ferringer attended the public schools in Franklin, includ­ing the Union School at 1 1 th and Buffalo streets.
She was employed for 11 years by the Galena Signal Oil Co. and then worked 22 years for Witco Chemical Corp., retiring in 1956. She was in charge of the payroll department.
While her health permitted, Mrs. Ferringer was an active member and the oldest member of Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, where she taught Sunday School. She also was a member of the D.U.L.C. of the church.
Mrs. Ferringer was a member of the Women's Club and the Order of Eastern Star, Nursery Chapter No. 25.
Mrs. Ferringer was married Oct. 20, 1951, to Donald Fay Ferringer, who died June 16, 1967.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Gwen) Kossman of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Lisa K. Garfi of Midlothian, Va., and D. Gregg Kossman of Red Lion; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Garfi, Rachel Garfi and Crystal Kossman; two nieces and two nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ferringer was pre­ceded in death by two brothers, Wesley LeRoy Fry and Edward H. Fry.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Huff Chapel, Franklin. Visitation also will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Frederick G. Keller, pas­tor, officiating.
Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Grace Lutheran Chruch of Franklin or to the Oil City Presbyterian Home.
