She was a native of Centre County, Pennsylvania. [CBRCP-CCJC, 1064]
She was born March 1, 1832, in Centre County. [HJC 1917 II, 19]

Her parents died when she was very young, her father being burned to death in his saw mill in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and she and her only brother Charles, were never certain as to which was their proper name "Kephart" or "Everhart."
