Kerry E. Marshall
Kerry E. Marshall, 86, of Kennerdell RD 1, died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 1995, in Grandview Health Care in Oil City.
Born Jan. 24, 1909, in Hawthorn, he was a son of the Rev. Ray and Blanche Shindledecker Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was employed by J&L Steel Corp. in Oil City for many years. At the time of his retirement in 1963, he was a security guard.
He was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church.
Mr. Marshall also was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was a former member of the Rockland Sportsman Club.
He volunteered his time to help the Rockland Volunteer Fire Department with the upkeep at the Rockland Cemetery.
Mr. Marshall was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling.
He was married June 26, 1931, to the former Alice M. Feltenberger, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frances Himes, wife of the Rev. George Himes of Kennerdell RD 1, and Mrs. Lawrence (Barbara) Miller Leggiero of Beaver Falls RD 2; five grandchildren, Ronald Himes of Kennerdell, Mrs. Kevin (Fay) Billock of Brockport, William E. Miller of Beaver and Robert E. Miller and Beth Ann Miller, both of Beaver Falls; and nine greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by a grandson, Raymond Himes, and three brothers, Benjamin Marshall, Francis Marshall and Emerson Marshall.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Huff Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph J. Kosarek, pastor of the Rockland United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Rockland United Methodist Church, the Rockland Volunteer Fire Department or to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.
