General Notes: Husband - Philip Kline

This family, which is of German descent, came to Clarion County, Pennsylvania, from Lehigh County, where he and his wife, the earliest recorded progenitors in this country, were both born. After their marriage in Lehigh County, they came in about 1835 or 1836 to what is now known as Clarion County; and there Philip Kline leased a farm in Salem township with the expectation of ultimately purchasing it. He was engaged in clearing it up when he died. He was a member of the Democratic party politically, and he and his wife both belonged to the Lutheran church.
