He was a soldier during the Civil War in the One Hundred and Fifth Pennsylvania Infantry. At the battle of Fair Oaks, Virginia, he was severely wounded, and finally was dis-charged at New Haven, Connecticut. He afterward died of disease contracted in Kansas.
