General Notes: Husband - Carlisle McFadden

Barkeyville, Venango Co, PA

He was born in Irwin township, Venango County, PA, and received a com­mon school education. He learned the wagonmaker's trade, which he followed ten years, but after 1871 he was engaged in farming in Marion township, Butler County. In June, 1864, he enlisted in Company E; One Hundred and Seventy-seventh Ohio Volunteers, and was honorably dis­charged on March 17, 1865. Politically, he was a Democrat, was a member of the G. A. R., and an adherent of the Methodist Episcopal church.

He resided on a farm, first improved by Andrew Cook, in Marion Township, Butler County, PA.
