General Notes: Husband - John Fairbairn


The eldest of his siblings, he received a common school education, and early in life learned the iron molder's trade. He came to America in 1846, settling in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he worked at his trade for some time and became successful financially. Politically, he was a Republican. He and his wife were members of the Chestnut Street Presbyterian Church, in which he was an Elder.

He was connected with the firm of Davenport, Fairbairn & Co., manufacturers of car wheels and railroad castings, Erie, Pennsylvania.
